En delegasjon fra Troms fylkeskommune med fylkesrådsleder Willy Ørnebakk i spissen deltar på Arctic Circle Assembly i Reykjavik 18.-21. oktober.

Det er også andre representanter fra Troms der, blant dem Tromsø kommune, Fram – Nordområdesenter for klima- og miljøforsknning, som har en stand på konferansen i tillegg til å være involvert i ulike arrangementer.

  • Ørnebakk er invitert til å holde et innlegg under en breakout session kalt The role of Arts, Culture and Creative Industries in Building Sustainable Societies in the Arctic. Sesjonen organisert av Arctic Arts Summit /Arctic Arts Festival (Festspillene i Nord-Norge) fredag 19. oktober. Det er en oppfølging av Arctic Arts Summit, som ble arrangert i Harstad i 2017.
  • Fylkesnæringssjef Nils Arne Johnsen har travle dager i Reykjavik. Hans program inkluderer:
  • Fredag 19.10 kl. 15.30-17.00: Breakout Session  Port Cities Connected by the North Atlantic: Workhsop on Logistics, Bioeconomy and Tourism
    Sesjonen er organisert av High North Atlantic Business Alliance, og Johnsen skal lede sesjonen.
  • Fredag19.10 17.15-18.45: Breakout Session Research for Societal Benefit: Where Polar Research Can Make a Difference
    Sesjonen er organisert av EU-PolarNet. Johnsen skal holde innlegg og også delta i paneldebatt.
  • Lørdag 20.10 16.15-17.45 Breakout Session: And Action! Moving Beyond Benevolent Rhetoric in Stakeholder Engagement
    Sesjonen er organisert av Fram-senteret, NINA og EU-PolarNet. Johnsen skal lede sesjonen.

Troms County Council at the Arctic Circle Assembly 2018

A delegation from Troms County Council, headed by Mr. Willy Ørnebakk, Chair of the Troms County Government, attends the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik on October 18-21.

There are also other representatives from Troms, among them Tromso municipality and Fram – High North Research Centre for Climate and the Environment, which is having a stand at the conference in addition to being invovled in various events.

Here is an overview of where Troms County Council’s representatives can be met during the conference:

  • Mr. Ørnebakk is invited to give a speech at a breakout session called The role of Arts, Culture and Creative Industries in Building Sustainable Societies in the Arctic. The session is organised by the Arctic Arts Summit/Arctic Arts Festival on Friday October 19 and is a follow-up of the Arctic Arts Summit, which was held in Harstad in 2017.
  • Troms County Council’s Director of Business Development, Mr. Nils Arne Johnsen, will have busy days in Reykjavik. His program includes:
